Alan Sipols is a founding partner of Cube Capital. Alan has over 20 years’ experience in asset management and corporate finance.

Between 1997 and 2003, Alan oversaw distressed restructurings and capital markets programs as well as established an alternative investment business for a large Russian financial and industrial group. He also worked for various smaller investment companies including Phoenix in New Delhi, between 1995 and 1996 and Sovlex / Montgomery Securities in Moscow and San Francisco between 1992 and 1994.

His responsibilities at these companies included securities portfolio management and acquisitions. In 1992, Alan graduated from Moscow’s State Academy of Management with a summa cum laude degree in Economic Cybernetics.


Mike Williams is General Counsel at Cube Capital. Mike is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s legal and compliance requirements, as well as having oversight of all business risk. Mike joined Cube Capital in 2009 and was admitted into the Law Society in January 2012. Prior to joining Cube, Mike gained experience of corporate law as a trainee solicitor for a Guernsey based law firm and trust corporation between 2007 and 2008. Mike received a BA (Honors) degree in History from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2005 and successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London in 2007.


Francois Buclez is a founding partner of Cube Capital. Francois has 23 years experience in investment management, derivatives trading and investment banking. Prior to founding Cube in 2003 he was a Managing Director in the CSFB Emerging Markets group between 1994 and 2003 where he headed the investment banking efforts in Moscow.

Between 1989 and 1994 Francois worked for Credit Agricole Indosuez where he was a derivatives trader involved in equity, FX and fixed income markets. In 1989 Francois was awarded an MBA (specialised in International Finance) from HEC Paris and he also holds an MSc from ESME Paris.
